COMES NOW the Plaintiff, ANNA SMITH, by and through her undersigned counsel, and for her Complaint against Defendant HALLORAN FREIGHT LLC, alleges as follows.

1. This action arises out of a motor-vehicle collision. On March 4, 2024, Plaintiff was lawfully operating her vehicle on Interstate 880 when Defendant's commercial truck negligently struck Plaintiff's vehicle from the rear, causing severe and permanent injury.

2. The collision and resulting bodily injury are the basis of Plaintiff's claim for personal injury negligence against Defendant.

3. Plaintiff caused the Summons and Complaint to be personally served upon Defendant's registered agent on June 18, 2026, in accordance with the California Code of Civil Procedure.

4. Pursuant to the Court's standing order, the parties are directed to appear for a Case Management Conference set for October 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 21.

5. Defendant's responsive pleading is due within thirty (30) days of service of the Summons upon the registered agent, as provided by statute.

6. Plaintiff seeks general and special damages according to proof, costs of suit, and such other relief as the Court deems just and proper.

7. Plaintiff demands a trial by jury on all issues so triable.
